You Don’t Have to Be ‘Fine’ Today
You Don’t Have to Be ‘Fine’ Today
There’s a quiet pressure you carry.
To function. To smile. To show up.
To answer, “I’m fine,” when someone asks, even though you’re anything but.
But I want to offer you something today:
Permission to not be okay.
You don’t have to fix your whole life by this evening.
You don’t have to return every message, smile through every meeting, or carry every load without trembling.
There is a kind of strength in resting.
In breathing.
In saying, “I need a pause.”
You might feel guilty for needing space.
But guilt isn’t a good compass here.
You’re allowed to be a work in progress, to fall apart and rebuild quietly.
This moment is not the final chapter.
You’re not behind.
You’re not weak.
You’re just human, and being human means limits.
Don’t punish yourself for reaching yours.
Today doesn’t need to be productive.
It only needs to be honest.
So drink something warm.
Wrap yourself in something soft.
Sit by a window and let the world move without you for a little while.
You are not lazy.
You are not broken.
You’re just tired.
And it’s okay to rest here.
